Who sent the emails?

HARLINGEN — A former Austin police officer is the one who sent emails containing what appear to be official police reports and dash-cam videos showing Police Chief Jeffry Adickes being arrested for drunken driving in 2012, two years after retiring from the Austin Police Department.

Jermaine Hopkins was fired from the Austin Police Department in October 2014 after suing the city for discrimination, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

According to the newspaper, an arbitrator upheld Hopkin’s termination in September 2015.

His biggest complaints seem to revolve around Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo.

Yesterday, Mayor Chris Boswell told the Valley Morning Star to review background of the “people behind this,” referencing who’s sending the emails.
