SAN BENITO — In an effort to better serve the residents of San Benito, the public library is extending its hours of operation effective today.
The library will open an extra two hours Monday through Thursday, with closing time scheduled at 9 p.m. This expansion of hours is a trial run to evaluate the benefit of the extra hours for citizens’ use of the library.
City and library administration will be closely monitoring the number of visitors during the extended hours. At the end of six weeks, the attendance will be evaluated and a final decision will be made to keep the schedule or revert back to closing earlier.
The community is encouraged to complete a survey available at the library’s front desk to assist them with the decision.
