Sunshine Haven in Olmito announces ‘Music for the Soul’

Sunshine Haven, the end-of-life care facility in Olmito, announced a new program called “Music for the Soul,” which will have its debut on Friday.

In a news release, Sunshine Haven stated that Music for the Soul is a therapy program to help support patients and their families during end-of-life care.

“The history of music in healthcare has shown that music can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and even chronic physical pain,” the release stated, adding that Sunshine Haven is committed to helping each patient reduce their chronic physical pain and their family’s emotional stress when it comes to placing their loved ones in an end-of-life home.

Performances will take place the first Friday of each month, with a guest performer playing music for the patients and their families.

Edmundo Rincon, a saxophonist, will be the first Music for the Soul performer, at 10:45 a.m. on Friday.

Sunshine Haven, a 501(c)(3) special care licensed facility that serves terminally diagnosed patients free of all costs to the patients and families, is located at 7105 W. Lakeside Blvd. in Olmito. For more information, please call (956) 350-8400.
