HARLINGEN — A $1 million program will pave four west-side streets as part of an annual city project.
City commissioners selected the roads based on City Engineer Javier Zamora’s recommendation for the upcoming fiscal year’s Street Overlay Program.
The list includes sections of Dixieland Road, Bothwell Road, Drury Lane and Garrett Road.
Based on City Manager Dan Serna’s recommendation, commissioners agreed to go out for construction bids to pave a section of Queen Sago Road after Zamora tapped the job as an alternate project.
The project includes paving Queen Sago from Beckham Road to Stuart Place Road at an estimated cost of $197,888.
The five projects total 2.19 miles.
Officials have been focusing on road projects on the city’s fast-growing west side.

– Bothwell Road from Tucker Road to Dixieland Road at a cost of $128,262.
– Drury Lane from Tamm Lane to Altas Palmas Road at a cost of $152,546.
– Garrett Road from Tucker Road to Dixieland Road at a cost of $145,084.
