Land donation approved for new county warehouse

BROWNSVILLE — Cameron County commissioners unanimously approved to accept a land donation for a new Pct. 4 warehouse and maintenance facility at Tuesday’s meeting.

The Leon and Linda Bence Revocable Trust donated five acres of land for the site of the proposed facility. The building will be named the Leon and Linda Bence County Building.

Currently, the precinct 4 warehouse sits on less than an acre of land in Teege Street in Harlingen.

“I want to thank the Leon and Linda Bence Revocable Trust for this great opportunity,” said Cameron County Pct. 4 Commission Gus Ruiz. “This is going to be a great location for the new Pct. 4 warehouse.”
