Sheriff identifies stabbing victim

SEBASTIAN — A woman who was found unconscious with multiple stab wounds has been identified as Gracie Ledesma.

She is between 20 and 30 years old, Sheriff Larry Spence said.

She at one point had an address in Raymondville. But Spence said he is not sure whether that is her current address.

She remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit of a local hospital yesterday.

As of yesterday evening, investigators still had not been able to talk to her.

A man driving to work about 7:30 a.m. Friday found Ledesma on the side of FM 2629 about three miles east of U.S. 77 near Sebastian.

She had been stabbed more than a dozen times in the front and back, including her throat, Spence said.

Investigators are not releasing any further information.
