Learn about downtown’s beautiful murals

HARLINGEN – It really is hot off the presses.

The new Downtown Harlingen mural guide arrived yesterday and is now available for residents and visitors interested in learning more about the many larger-than-life-size murals in the historic city center.

It’s a free brochure featuring thumbnail images of 22 original artworks, along with brief descriptions and a map.

Downtown manager Cheryl LaBerge said the new, updated brochure allows visitors and residents the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the murals.

The brochures will be available at the Texas Travel Center, Harlingen Chamber of Commerce, the downtown business office as well as businesses around the downtown.

The brochure has been available since 2001 and this is the sixth update.

The last mural brochure was printed in 2012 and there are some additions and changes to this new brochure.
