Party on the Resaca

SAN BENITO — The Fourth of July will be celebrated tomorrow with a day of live music, food and family-styled fun.

Fireworks over the Resaca will cap off the evening.

ResacaFest is San Benito’s largest festival and has grown over the years to include more activities and an expanded fireworks display.

Two stages of entertainment are scheduled to keep the activities moving during this free community event.

The public is invited to participate in the festival at W.H. Heavin Memorial Park at 705 N. Bowie St. from 4 to 11 p.m.

Other activities Saturday include live music and children’s events which will feature a carnival, children’s games, Patriotic Costume Dog and Owner contest, face-painting, food booths and a beer garden on the event grounds.

The music will feature country, classic, pop and Tejano in a continuous venue until 11 p.m.

Live entertainers are Tejano Boys, Ricky Guzman, Madeline Victoria and others.

Food and drinks will be available on the event grounds, with a beer garden for the adults.

Who can enter: Anyone with a friendly dog who has its current rabies shot

Rules: Must have rabies tag and be dressed in some sort of patriotic attire
