SAN BENITO — The city will host Summer Nights in the Park tonight at Heavin Memorial Park along the Resaca.
The park is located on Business 77 at the resaca.
Music, family fun and entertainment for children are planned from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The event is designed to give families a fun event in a safe, outdoor setting as the summer season kicks off in San Benito.
Commercial food trucks featuring a variety of food will be onsite at the event. Admission is free of charge.
Ice chests or outside food or drinks will not be allowed at the event. Attendees are invited to bring their own chairs or blankets for their use.
Future summer events will include movies in the park at Stookey Park and other locations.
The Parks & Recreation Department is hosting registration for various programs including soccer camp and cheerleading camp.
