San Benito closes in on 5-year school plan

SAN BENITO — The school district is getting close to a final version of a five-year plan for its future.

Superintendent Dr. Adrian Vega said last night it will be an exciting day when the final draft of the Re-Imagine 2021 Strategic Plan is presented to the public.

Vega said he plans to conduct the presentation in a bigger venue to accommodate the public and the large committee that helped draft the plan.

The past five work sessions have all worked their way up to this final point.

At the end of May, committees met in their final session to iron out and draft up details of the plan.

Vega said last night a final copy is expected to be sent to the school board for approval in July.

Next week, he plans to present the findings of an efficiency audit to the school board.

Work on the strategic plan began as soon as Vega arrived in January.
