School Spirit: City, district will team up to promote more passionate following

SAN BENITO — Community spirit is alive and well.

It’s no mistake that San Benito bleeds purple and gold.

It’s greyhound country, always. If only there was more spirit to be had.

That’s what Superintendent Dr. Adrian Vega suggested Wednesday evening during a joint meeting of the city and school district.

Together, city commissioners and school board members discussed in depth possible community spirit projects.

The leaders talked about the possibility of adding more purple and gold around town.

Vega suggested banners be displayed downtown with clever sayings testifying to San Benito’s school spirit.
