WESLACO — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred late Thursday night in north Mission.
The crash occurred at 11:55 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 2221 and Texan Road when the driver of a Mercury Grand Marquis lost control of his vehicle and struck a concrete irrigation pipe and wooden utility post, according to a DPS news release.
The male driver died at the scene, and DPS will release his identity once his next-of-kin has been notified.
An unidentified male front passenger was transported to Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance with serious injuries.
