‘ Le Miz’ and more: Popular musical to highlight McAllen Performing Arts Center’s second season

McALLEN — The popular Broadway show “Les Miserables” will be coming to the Performing Arts Center as the second season of shows were announced Wednesday.

In addition to “Les Miserables,” the center’s Broadway season will include “Cirque Dreams Holidaze,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Million Dollar Quartet” and “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.” The first show is “Cirque Dreams Holidaze” on Dec. 7 and the season concludes with “Les Miserables” on Sept. 12, 2018.

The 2017-18 McAllen Live! Series starts with “Christmas Wonderland” on Nov. 26 and ends with “Yanni” on June 19. Other shows in the series include “STOMP” and “Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.”

The $45 million Performing Arts Center opened last November and featured “Annie,” “Elf: The Broadway Musical,” “Jersey Boys,” “The Illusionists,” “Dirty Dancing,” and many other shows during the inaugural season.

Promoter Adam Epstein, CEO of Innovation Arts & Entertainment, put on the first season at the PAC and was clearly pleased with the results to come back for season two.

Season ticket holders will now be able to renew their ticket packages and lock in the seats they had last season. If seats remain available after season ticket holders opt in for another year, new season tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Sept. 25. Back again is also the club section seating program, which features priority seating locations.
