UPDATE:
The city of Palmview said on Facebook that the fire has been contained and Abram Road has been reopened.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A person has been hospitalized as the Palmview Fire Department works on a structure fire, the city said in a news release.
The city said the fire department is currently working on the structure fire at 2206 Abram Rd., adding that drivers avoid the area.
“One person has been transported to a local hospital with burns and smoke inhalation,” the city said in the release. “Abram Road south of Business 83 (Perezville area) is closed to all traffic.”
The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated by the city’s fire department and the Hidalgo County Fire Marshal’s Office, the release stated.
