Intersection to close in McAllen due to drainage improvements

Attention all motorists. There’s more roadwork in your future.

Expect delays Wednesday, as there will be a road closure at the Main Street and Redbud Avenue intersection in McAllen due to storm infrastructure construction related to a 2018 drainage bond, according to the city.

That project is called the Bond Group C3 Drainage Improvement Project.

Main Street will be closed to traffic between Quamasia Avenue and Shasta Avenue, according to a McAllen city news release.

“Motorists are urged to find alternate routes during the road closure and exercise extreme caution and patience when traveling along the area,” the city said in the release. “Motorists should expect some delays and congestion.”
