One man is in the hospital and another in police custody after police responded to a stabbing at North Closner Boulevard in Edinburg early Saturday morning.
Edinburg spokesperson Roxanne Lerma said in an email Saturday that 34-year-old Ausencio Celestino Manuel was transported to DHR Health after having been found stabbed in the back in the 1400 block of North Closner Boulevard at around 1:51 a.m.
Manuel was in critical but stable condition as of 6:08 p.m. Saturday.
Police have since identified the suspect as 46-year-old Carlos Martinez and have a warrant for his arrest on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
