UPDATE: On Sunday, the Edinburg Police Department identified the deceased man as 48-year-old Mauro Garza of Edinburg. Officials say the investigation is ongoing, with an autopsy pending.

Edinburg police are investigating the death of a person whose body was found just after 7 a.m. Saturday.
In a news release, the city said police responded to a call at about 7:15 a.m. in reference to a body found in the 3200 block of Turquoise Street.
“Edinburg PD officers responded to the scene and located a deceased male whose body was in a state of decomposition,” the release stated.
Investigators are on scene and working the case.
