Do you live in Hidalgo County Precinct 3? Do you know a hero?

We want to give them something to smile about and reward them for their heroics by highlighting their stories. That’s what our ‘Precinct 3 Heroes’ campaign is all about.

Hidalgo County Precinct 3 this week announced the launch of its Heroes campaign, which is an initiative aimed at recognizing and honoring people who have demonstrated heroic acts, according to a news release.

“The past 2 years have been marked by unprecedented challenges and hardships for many in our community. Despite these difficulties, there are countless individuals who have stepped up to the plate to help others in need,” the release stated. “From healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic to community organizers and volunteers working tirelessly to support our most vulnerable, these everyday heroes have shown us that even in the darkest of times, hope and resilience can prevail.”

Precinct 3 Commissioner Everardo “Ever” Villarreal is asking community members to nominate someone who has made a positive impact.

To nominate someone, fill out this form and Precinct 3 will select a hero starting in March. The campaign will run through the end of the year with a monthly hero being selected each month, according to the release.

“We are thrilled to launch our Precinct 3 Heroes campaign and shine a spotlight on the random acts of kindness, bravery, and selflessness that often go unnoticed in our community,” Villarreal said in the release. “We hope that this campaign will not only recognize and celebrate the heroes among us but also inspire others to take action and make a positive difference in their own communities.”

Villarreal said the goal is to make sure the impact individuals have had in Precinct 3 doesn’t go unnoticed.

“We want to give them something to smile about and reward them for their heroics by highlighting their stories,” Villarreal said. “That’s what our ‘Precinct 3 Heroes’ campaign is all about.”
