McAllen police: Runaway may be with man sought on kidnapping warrant

The McAllen Police Department is looking for a 19-year-old man who has an arrest warrant for kidnapping who may be with a 14-year-old runaway.

In a news release, police asked for the public’s assistance in locating Clayton Ryan Phillips, who has brown hair and blue eyes. He weighs about 160 pounds and stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall.

He may be driving a blue Kia Forte, police say.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call crime stoppers at (956) 687-8477.

Police say that 14-year-old Antonette Rodriguez’s voluntary absence was reported to the McAllen Police Department on Monday.

“Antonette Rodriguez is not of age to consent to voluntarily leave her residence,” the release stated.

Police say that she is considered an endangered runaway due to her age and investigators believe she is with Phillips.

Rodriguez has brown eyes, brown hair and was last seen wearing a black zipper sweater and black leggings.

She is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.

The release notes that harboring a runaway is against the law.

Anyone with information about Rodriguez’s whereabouts should call crime stoppers at (956) 687-8477. Anonymous tipsters and also provide information through the P3 Tips app.

The release did not provide any details regarding the kidnapping allegations against Phillips.
