A video surfaced online Tuesday showing two teenage girls fighting inside a classroom with one of them appearing to lose consciousness.

The video was recorded last Friday at Grulla High School, a Rio Grande City Grulla ISD campus.

Two teenage girls are seen fighting inside a classroom with several others watching on.

“One of the students is facing disciplinary action. The other student who was injured is recovering at home,” a statement from the school district read. “This altercation was an isolated incident. RGCGISD’s priority remains student safety and a safe learning environment.”

The video lasts about 24 seconds but throughout most of it, one of the girls held the other by the hair as she punched her head repeatedly.

The girl who was being held down managed to stand up for a few seconds before the girl holding her hair struck her again until she collapsed, fell on her back and stopped moving.

Her classmates are heard calling the name of the student who appeared motionless. The video ended after two people, one of them wearing a lanyard around their neck, walked over to the student on the ground.

During the fight, someone is heard saying, “girls, cut it out”. Some students encouraged the fight saying, “dale!” But there were no attempts to break up the fight.
