McAllen police looking for man who fired gun during disturbance

The McAllen Police Department is asking the public to help locate a 35-year-old man accused of firing a gun and fleeing from police once officers found him.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said officers are looking for Rogelio Ilogio Ledesma on warrants for deadly conduct and evading arrest or detention.

Police said he fired his gun during a disturbance in the 100 block of W. Pecan Boulevard at about 8 p.m. on Aug. 6.

“The suspect discharged a firearm and left the area,” the release said. “Investigating police officers located the wanted suspect and he evaded and fled in a white Buick Regal.”

Ledesma stands 6-feet tall and weighs 220 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes and drives the white Buick Regal.

“If you know where Rogelio Ilogio Ledesma may be located you are urged to call McAllen Crime Stoppers at 956-687-8477,” the release stated.

Anonymous tipsters can also submit information through the smartphone application P3 TIPS.

“If the information leads to an arrest you may be eligible for a cash reward,” the release said.
