Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies have arrested three out of six people believed to be involved in an aggravated kidnapping that happened July 3 in Cameron Park.
Victor Manuel Armendariz, 42; Alejandro Galvan, 31; and Cesario Mendiola Jr., 41, are each charged with aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and engaging in organized criminal activity, the sheriff’s department said Tuesday in a press release.
According to the release, the alleged kidnapping occurred on Avenida Katarina. A witness told authorities that the victim said he was taken against his will. He was assaulted while being forced into a vehicle.
The victim was returned the following day. He had been severely beaten, the release said.
Three arrests were issued for each of the six suspects. Armendariz, Galvan and Mendiola were arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals, according to the sheriff’s department.
The investigation is ongoing, the release said.
