The Brownsville Public Utilities Board has temporarily closed a portion of Shidler Drive in Brownsville.
The roadway, from Lindale Drive to Rockwell Drive, closed Tuesday and will remain so until approximately May 31. Crews are there to repair a 12-inch sewer main line buried in the middle of the street.
Traffic will be detoured until work is completed, officials said.
“All construction dates and times are approximate, and the end date and time may vary due to the nature of weather, soil conditions and job provisions,” BPUB stated. “BPUB, Texas Department of Transportation and City of Brownsville departments have coordinated on this effort to make it a safe and efficient operation. BPUB apologizes for any inconveniences the closure may cause.”
