Unofficial early voting numbers for the 2022 Constitutional Amendments and Local Entities Elections in Hidalgo County show a substantial drop in comparison to the 2018 Local Entities Elections.

After four days of early voting, a total of 7,748 votes have been cast. These numbers include 5,814 in person ballots and 1,934 mail-in ballots.

The 2018 election saw a total of 11,257 ballots cast after four days of early voting. Those numbers include 9,186 in person ballots and 2,071 mail-in ballots.

The 2018 election included races in the cities of Elsa, Hidalgo, and Mission, as well as Mission CISD, Sharyland ISD, South Texas College, AGUA Special Utility District and Donna Irrigation District.

The 2022 election includes races in the cities of Elsa, Mercedes, Mission, Palmhurst, Palmview, and Progreso, as well as Edcouch-Elsa ISD, Mission CISD, Sharyland ISD, South Texas College, and Engelman Irrigation District.

The last day for early voting is Tuesday, and election day is set for Saturday, May 7.
