The City of Brownsville will hold a vaccination clinic beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the Texas Southmost College ITEC Center located at 301 Mexico Blvd.

The clinic is designed for those 65 years and older, and anyone 18 years and above with a health condition that may increase the risk of then contracting COVID-19. There will be enough Moderna first-dose vaccines for 1,500 area residents.

Everyone will be required to pre-register online at btxcares.com or call the City of Brownsville COVID-19 Helpline at (956) 394-0012 for assistance with registration. The pre-registration begins at 9 a.m. Thursday and will close when 1,500 names have been recorded.

No walk-ins will be allowed at the drive-thru clinic.

Aside from the city, the clinic is being held by the State of Texas, Cameron County, the Brownsville Independent School District, Texas Southmost College, SpaceX, and the South Texas Independent School District.
