Law enforcement pays tribute to medical professionals

Medical professionals around Cameron County are being honored this morning as law enforcement throughout the county recognized them with a rolling tribute.

A parade of law enforcement vehicles are participating in a caravan from Brownsville to Harlingen, where they will pass by local hospitals to express their appreciation to all medical professionals during National Nurses Week.

The caravan first paraded around Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, where nurses and other health care professionals stood outside to welcome them.

The parade included vehicles from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Texas Department of Public Safety, Cameron County Sheriff’s Department, police departments from Brownsville, San Benito, McAllen, Edinburg, Los Indios, UTRGV police, Veterans Affairs police, the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office and Brownsville and Harlingen fire departments.

The caravan is to also roll by Harlingen Medical Center, UTRGV Regional Academic Health Center, VA Outpatient Clinic, Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville and Harlingen and the UTRGV testing facility in Brownsville.
