The public is invited to help celebrate the opening of the Upper Valley Art League’s new exhibit by the Fiber Arts Group, titled “Celebrate!”

The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday with a half-hour performance by the Paloma Limas Dance Company, followed by refreshments, wine, and convivial socializing and viewing until 9 p.m.

The exhibit will be on view through April 29.

According to the group’s curator, Pat Cooper, “each artist is celebrating their own particular focus, whether it be traditional quilting, imaginative weaving, or creative construction of some sort.”

The Upper Valley Art League is located at the Kika de la Garza Fine Arts Center, 921 E. 12th St. in Mission, next to Speer Memorial Library. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
