Harvey Avenue in McAllen will be closing while the city works on bridge improvements as part of the 2018 bond election, which addresses drainage improvement projects.
Construction will take place along Bicentennial Boulevard between Tamarack and Harvey avenues. The closure is scheduled to begin Monday, Sep. 12, and run until Thursday, April 6, 2023.
Harvey Avenue will be closed all through North 16th Street and Bicentennial Boulevard.
Residents in the area will still have access to their homes.
The city urges motorists to find alternate routes and practice safe driving due to potential road delays and congestion.
