CBP seizes $283K in methamphetamine at B&M International Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the B&M International Bridge say they discovered more than 14 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country.

The seizure took place on Thursday, Dec. 10, when a 44-year-old woman from the U.S. drove across the bridge from Matamoros to Brownsville.

During a secondary inspection, officers say a canine unit discovered the narcotics hidden in six packages within the sedan. The meth had an estimated street value of $283,952.

CBP officers seized the narcotics along with the vehicle, arrested the driver and turned her over to the custody of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents for further investigation.
