Cameron County reports 3 virus deaths

Three more Cameron County residents have died from COVID-19 related causes, the county health department said Tuesday.

The deaths were reported in Brownsville and Harlingen.

They included two women in their 70s and a woman in her 90s, Cameron County Public Health said in a statement.

This raises the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Cameron County to 1,103.

Also Tuesday, the health department said it has received confirmation on an additional 75 coronavirus cases here, raising the total number of cases to 25,234.

The new cases include four children ages 9 and younger, 15 people ages 10 to 19, 13 people in their 20s, 13 people in their 90s, five people in their 40s, 11 people in their 50s, six people in their 60s, seven people in their 70s and person in her 80s, the health department said.

New cases were reported in Brownsville, Harlingen, La Feria, Los Fresnos, Port Isabel, Rio Hondo and San Benito.
