The Texas Fish and Wildlife Service confirmed that a man’s body was found in Cameron County near Boca Chica State Park on Wednesday.
“Texas Game Wardens and Texas State Park Police Officers located the victim using a drone,” wrote Stephanie Garcia, a press officer with TPWD.
Although the man’s identity is not being released, officials reported the body found is related to a Kingsville man reported missing on Friday.
The Kingsville Police Department on its Facebook page stated Hueytzen James Wu’s – the missing Kingsville man – vehicle was captured crashed at Boca Chica beach, 200 yards from the border with Mexico, and near the SpaceX site.
Police said his family has been unable to contact him.
The investigation is being handled by the Cameron County Sheriffs Office and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately available for comment.
