BPUB employee tests positive for COVID-19

The Brownsville Public Utility Board says an additional employee has tested positive for coronavirus.

The utility company says the test was confirmed on Tuesday, Aug. 4 and the last time the employee was at a BPUB facility was July 20.

BPUB says several actions have already been taken as a precautionary measure, including:

· A deep cleaning of the employee’s work areas

· A deep cleaning of common areas

· Working with city and county health officials

BPUB will continue to follow CDC guidelines for workplace safety, require employees to use facial coverings, promote good hygiene practices and share health, safety and travel guidelines with all employees.
