Over 40 Cameron County employees have tested positive for COVID-19, the county judge’s office is reporting.
The employees worked at the following departments:
- 1 – Parks System
- 2 – Public Works Pct. 4
- 2 – Public Works Pct. 2
- 1 – Justice of the Peace Pct. 5, Pl.2
- 1 – District Attorney’s Office
- 1 – Human Resources Office
- 2 – County Clerk’s Office
- 3 – Juvenile Probation Dept.
- 1 – Public Health Dept.
- 1 – Reproduction Dept.
- 13 – Sheriff’s Office
- 3 – Tax Assessor Collector’s Office
- 6 – Adult Probation
- 1 – Veterans Office
- 2 – International Bridge System
- 2 – Auditor’s Office
Due to privacy laws, the county will not release specific employee information.
Officials said the Public Health Department is working closely with elected officials and department heads to continue taking the appropriate steps to keep employees and the public safe.
Last week, the county reported 28 employees had tested positive for the coronavirus.
