Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. has implemented a new curfew, closed all county beaches and park, and ordered the use of facial masks.
Trevino second amended emergency order is also recommending that residents shelter-in-place for the next two weeks.
The new emergency order will be in place beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, through July 13, unless the judge decides to make changes.
The curfew will be in place for those 17 and under from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. For adults, the curfew hours will be imposed from 11 a.m. to 5 a.m.
You will be allowed to drive during those hours if you are headed to work, have an emergency or are returning from an out of town trip.
“This order is mandated after the release of scientific and substantial guidance from the Cameron County Health Authority, Cameron County Health Director, The Texas Department of Health Services, and the Centers for Disease Control. A failure to comply with any of the provisions of this Order constitutes an imminent threat to public health,” Trevino said.
No groups of 10 people or more, that are not related, can gather socially indoors or outdoors. It also requires everyone living in the county to use a face mask.
The judge has also ordered the closure of all county beaches and parks. It incldes the following locations:
