Frankie Flav’z owner tests positive for virus, restaurants close temporarily

The popular Frankie Fla’z restaurants in Harlingen have closed temporarily after owner Frank Macias says he tested positive for COVID-19.

On a Facebook post, Macias says he learned of his diagnosis on Thursday afternoon.

“We are going to close up shops for a week. Following CDC guide lines I’m quarantining my self, my staff will be tested or monitored for symptoms. We’re going to use this time to professionally clean the restaurants and to look after our employees,” Macias said.

“With a little luck we’ll be back on the smokers and grills next week, and we appreciate so much your patience and understanding.

Macias is the chef/owner of Frankie Flav’z @The Point, Frankie Flav’z Craft Burger House and Frankie Flav’z Food Truck.
