The U.S. Postal Service on Wednesday confirmed that several of its employees at the Brownsville Post office have tested positive for COVID-19.
“This has been confirmed by the local public health office and we will follow the guidance they provide. We believe the risk is low for employees who work at this facility, but we will keep our employees apprised as new information and guidance becomes available,” the Postal Service said in statement.
Due to the Rehabilitation Act and Privacy Act, specific employee medical information cannot be released.
“The safety and well-being of our employees is our highest priority. To ensure the health of our employees, we are continuing to follow recommended guidance and strategies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”
On Tuesday, the Postal Service reported that two employees at the McAllen Post office on 620 East Pecan have tested positive for the coronavirus.
