Abbott: Nail salons, barbershops and beauty salons can open Friday

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said effective May 8, this Friday nail salons, barbershops and tanning salons will be allowed to open.
He said there should be six feet separations and that a limited amount of customers be allowed inside. Although business owners can open their businesses, it is not required that they do so.
Abbott said gyms will be allowed to open on May 18 at 25 % occupancy and must follow guidelines provided by his office.
The governor also clarified that people who go to beaches, lakes and rivers should maintain six feet of separation, groups should be no larger than five people and that it is recommended that people wear facial coverings.
No date has been scheduled as to when bars can reopen.
Abbott said the state will also have “Surge Response Teams” that will address flare ups of COVID-19 in Texas.
