‘Law enforcement activity’ reported at Edinburg medical practice

Federal agents are conducting “law enforcement activity” at a medical practice in Edinburg, according to FBI spokesperson Michelle Lee.

Lee confirmed agents were present at the Cross Point Medical Clinic, located on Trenton Road, but said she could not elaborate.

Dr. Osama Nahas, who is listed as the internist and who The Monitor has previously reported as the owner of the clinic, was indicted in May 2017 on two counts of Medicaid fraud in state district court.

However, those charges were dismissed last month at the request of the District Attorney’s office, according to court records.

One of Nahas’ former employees, Gerardo Jackson, was also charged on two counts of Medicaid fraud which were also dismissed last month.
