A Mission native is set to premiere her new horror film, which was produced in the Rio Grande Valley, on Thursday.

Alyssa Renee’s “Black Clown 3” will premiere at Payne Arena, located at 2600 N. 10th St. in Hidalgo. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and there will be food as well as live entertainment before the movie’s premiere at 8 p.m.

Parts 1 and 2 of the “Black Clown” movies are currently streaming on Amazon Prime, Roku and Tubi. While those were filmed in Dallas, Renee said she brought the production for “Black Clown 3” to the Valley over the summer and hired an all local, Hispanic cast.

According to a news release, “Black Clown” is a psychological thriller where a clown-masked killer wreaks havoc on his victims in different, twisted ways in each episode.

Recently awarded Woman of Distinction in Arts & Entertainment by the Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chamber, Renee has worked on several projects throughout the state and is a big advocate for more women in the film industry.
