Members of the Brownsville Fire Department, alongside city officials, gathered at Central Station on Adams Street this morning to unveil a new firetruck that has been two years in the making.

The bright red engine features new, environmentally friendly equipment options combined with traditional details, like a bell for use at parades and events, as well as an old-school, silver siren on the engine’s front bumper.

The new vehicle is designed to maneuver the narrow streets of downtown in a safer and more efficient manner.
