Edinburg firefighters rescue newborn pups

Sometimes a mom needs an extra hand.

That was the case Thursday night for a four-legged mother stuck inside a narrow drain pipe with her three tiny puppies near Chapin and Sugar roads.

A concerned citizen spotted her and called the Edinburg Fire Department, which swooped in for a pawsome rescue. Mom made it out first with one of her newborn pups, while two others remained trapped in the pipe.

“After several hours and multiple attempts, the two remaining puppies were rescued by Edinburg firefighters and reunited with their mom,” the department said in a Facebook post.
