Flood advisory issued for parts of Cameron County

The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for South Central Cameron County.

The advisory will be in effect until 2:15 p.m. today.

At 11:06 a.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.

Some locations that will experience flooding include San Benito, Los Fresnos, Rancho Viejo, Olmito, Cameron Park, Laureles, Downtown Brownsville, Southmost, Brownsville, Lincoln Park, Rancho Viejo City Hall, Olmito Lake, Brownsville Sports Park, Driscoll Childrens Hospital, Rancho Verde Elementary School, Stillman Middle School, Valley Regional Medical Center, San Pedro,Los Cuates and Resaca Middle School.
