Lady ’Hounds continue winning ways despite change

SAN BENITO — In any sport, winning is never easy, although the San Benito softball program has made it seem that way.

Last year, the Lady ’Hounds qualified for the UIL state tournament for the second time in three seasons, solidifying the program’s winning tradition.

And despite losing some key seniors in the offseason as well as their longtime head coach Elias Martinez, who departed for Harlingen South, the Lady ’Hounds haven’t missed a beat this season.

So far, San Benito, which is ranked No. 2 in the state, is 13-0 and looks well on its way to another impressive postseason run.
