This is the time of the year that families gather to celebrate the holiday season,and our students have reached many milestones that deserve our recognition.
Our students have grown academically, physically, mentally, and above all they have proven to be true stewards of their education. Students and staff members have overcome diverse challenges with great enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and the will to succeed.
Our mission at San Benito Schools is to provide a premier education for all students, through a positive and safe learning environment, so that its graduates are college, career, military, and workforce ready.
We’re celebrating districtwide!
The Frank Roberts Elementary staff and students celebrated with a “Hip Hop Hooray! It’s the 50th Day!”Having completed 50 days of instruction, students and teachers dressed in their favorite 50s attire and were ready to rock and roll during virtual and on-site classes!
“It sure was a lot of fun to bring some nostalgia and joy to our students during this unprecedented time. Our goal this year, as a campus, has been to conduct the school with a ‘business as usual’ mentality by continuing to celebrate important milestones,”shared Assistant Principal Kourtney Leal.
“The participation by students and staff speaks to the great culture we’ve created at this school,” stated Principal Rolando Diaz. “It was amazing to see the children create and taste a favorite treat as we celebrated the 50th day of school,” added thirdgrade teacher Patricia Avila.
Berta Cabaza Middle School’s student thespians were honored for their firstnine weeks of achievements with the Theatre Excellence Award. The honorees are dedicated students who put forth their many talents and creativity.
“I have been incredibly blessed to have been given the opportunity to work with such dedicated and talented students. Our drama club continues to grow, and I welcome the talent,” said Theatre Arts teacher Jason Lee Isquierdo.
“My favorite thing was our Halloween video, telling a well-known story of La Llorona. It can be a tad bit stressful to make sure we turn in our project by the due date, but the outcome is always worth it!” exclaimed seventh grade student Celes Alvarado.
“We’ve done many great projects, but I have to say my favorite one was the ‘Nailed It’ project, where we dressed up as people or characters,” shared seventh grade student Trey Moore.
Districtwide, students were also recognized for their perfect attendance and rewarded with awards, gifts, and special drawings. The multiple sacrifices of students and parents to make it to class, be it virtual or on-site, are a perfect example of perseverance in the midst of many changes and challenges.
