Humane society without power after storm, waving fees for pet adoption

Those looking for a new pet, or wanting to help take care of animals until a home can be found, may want to reach out to the Humane Society of Harlingen.

According to a post on the organization’s Facebook page, the shelter remains without power following Hurricane Hanna, and all the animals need homes.

Today only, all adoption fees are being waived and all pets in the shelter are being made available for adoption or foster, short-term and long-term.

For more information, visit hshtx.org or visit the shelter.

Due to the power outage, the shelter’s phone lines are down, but team members are ready to help prospective pet owners.
