Bond set at $750,000 for suspected bank robber

Harlingen Police say the 26-year-old man accused of shooting a bank teller and then holding up the bank remains behind bars.

Mohamed Pathe Bah was arraigned on the charge of aggravated robbery and his bond was set at $750,000.

Police say Bah entered Texas Regional Bank on Business 77 on Friday morning, displayed a handgun, and then shot a teller. They say Bah demanded money from another bank teller at the window.

After receiving several bundles of of cash, the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. Bah was arrested a short time later near the intersection of Ed Carey and 25th Street.

Police say he still had the gun and money when he was apprehended.

 

The teller underwent surgery on Friday and has since been released from the hospital.
