3 City of Brownsville workers test positive for coronavirus

The City of Brownsville says three employees tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday.

The three work with the Brownsville Police Department as non-police, Fire Department Administration Office and Municipal Court.

In a news release, the city says the police department employee began to feel symptoms on Thursday, June 11; the fire department worker began to feel sick on Wednesday, June 10; and the Municipal court worker first began to feel symptoms on Friday, June 12.

COVID-19 results for all three came back positive on Wednesday.

The city says anyone who came in contact with the workers and is in a medium to high risk of exposure will be tested and quarantined. All associated workspaces will be disinfected and deep cleaned.

Due to privacy laws, the names of the employees will not be released.
