Sleeping man arrested on drug possession

PRIMERA — A man found asleep in a car was arrested on possession of narcotics.

Primera police arrested Anthony Rodriguez on Saturday on possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Police found Rodriguez, a Primera resident, parked at the intersection of Wilson and Stuart Place roads.

When officers approached the vehicle they found the driver was asleep at the wheel, according to police.

As the officers investigated they could see a baggie of cocaine on the passenger’s side seat, police said.

According to police, during the search of the vehicle officers also located scales, marijuana, four vials containing tetrahydrocannabinol (marijuana oil) and cocaine.

Rodriguez was given a total bond of $48,000.
