HARLINGEN — Pablo Rodriguez Gomez was sitting outside reading the newspaper Wednesday morning and enjoying his coffee like he always does every day.
Little did the 85-year-old man know his home was on fire. His neighbors were able to move him out of harms way moments before the windows blasted apart because of the blazing inferno inside.
Harlingen Fire department arrived at the home located on North A Street near the intersection of Lela Street. Authorities said the home was severely damaged and no one was injured.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for Gomez who lost everything in the fire.
