San Benito CISD school board president Michael A. Vargas recently attended the Texas Association of School Board (TASB) Legislative Committee Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) in San Antonio, Texas.
During a reception for the Mexican-American School Board Members Association (MASBA) Board of Directors, Vargas had the honor of meeting with Texas Congressional District 20 Congressman Joaquin Castro (San Antonio) and the Honorable Julian Castro, former mayor of San Antonio and Housing and Urban Development Secretary under the Obama Administration from 2014-2017.
